Jason Schechterle's career choice as a patrol officer had serious risks, but he never thought he’d experience what occurred to him one night in 2001. Jason took an emergency call that would forever change his life. While he was on his way trying to clear an intersection, a taxi cab travelling over 100mph crashed into the rear of his patrol car. Upon impact, his car burst into flames while he was still trapped inside causing severe burns over 40% of his body and forever changed his physical identity.
Jason’s story is a combination of heroism, transformation, and a series of miracles that lead up to saving his life. Jason shares his story of survival and how he overcame one of the most traumatic events he’d ever experience.
